Outdoor Educational Experiences:
Information for Teachers
Ben Lomond Snow Sports can offer, skiing, snowboarding, or exploring the mountain on snowshoes or just adrenalin pumping tobogganing. At Ben Lomond Snow Sports we can offer equipment hire and lesson packages.
The hire of equipment is for the whole day (9.00 - 4.00) Monday to Friday; ski or snowboard option includes skis, boots and poles, or snow- board and boots, with a 1 hour lesson with our qualified ski instructors. Proper ski jackets and pants are also available for hire.
EFTPOS facilities are available for the purchase of food and other accessories. Accounts can be sent to the school if that makes it easier on the day.
Snow Sports Shuffle Bus
Consider using the Snow Sport Shuffle Bus as a hassle free option.
If catching the Shuffle Bus your normal school vehicles do not have to worry about hiring or fitting chains.
We are on the mountain 24/7 so pick up or drop off times are not a problem. We have 3, 10 seater Troop carriers that can get school groups right to the top car park and direct them to their accommodation.
Day Only Visits
Tas Rovers Ski Lodge have offered the use of their facilities, for a per head cost. Students will receive a hot chocolate on arrival, the use of the Lodge facilities, large open area and toilets, somewhere to leave personal luggage.
Over Night Stays
This can be organised in many of the lodges on the mountain, all with different types of shared accommodation and facilities.
Park Pass Exemption
Before travelling to Ben Lomond please contact Adam from Parks and Wildlife on 0409 506 029 to apply for a Parks Exemption. This will ensure the students don't have to pay the Park Pass Fee for entering a National Park, because they are on an organised school trip. Felicity can help with the application if you need a hand.
We update daily our Facebook page which will give you a glimpse of the conditions on the mountain.
The snow play and toboggan areas are adjacent to the teaching area so most activities are located in the one spot.
Our snowmaking has expanded now to three snow guns that can be used to top up areas in the learning and toboggan areas. This extends the life of the natural snow and hopefully results in longer, more reliable seasons!
