Welcome to Ben Lomond Snow Sports - the place to experience a unique fun filled day in the snow at Tasmania's only vehicle accessible alpine resort.
Nestled in the heart of the Ben Lomond National Park in Northern Tasmania we are a leisurely 70 minute drive from Launceston.
We are one of the most relaxed family friendly resorts in Australia with great family friendly prices. The village is at 1,453 metres and is the highest visitable area in Tasmania.
A great present for your snow mad friend!
Call or email us to grab yours.
On the very scenic drive from Launceston you pass through rain forest and up to the mountain plateau. On a clear day from the top of Jacob's Ladder you can see as far as Flinders Island.
We are located right at the base of the tows and can offer a complete snow experience in one stop.
We have hire packages for skiing or boarding that include equipment hire and a lesson. We hire out ski and snowboard equipment, boots clothing from size 2 to 4xl, helmets, walking in the snow boots and of course for the speed demons there are toboggans, a good way to have fun on the snow!!
This season we have introduced some snow shoes that can be used in other areas of the national park for just going for a leisurely walk on the snow at your own pace.
With the introduction of snowmaking in 2011 we now have two snow guns that operate to top up the natural snow and to make the snow play, learning and toboggan area usable for longer.
We have a retail outlet selling the necessities for a warm day in the snow, including beanies, gloves, socks, goggles, sunnies and other basics. We also accept EFTPOS cards.
There is a cosy café on site with in our building to rest, relax and replenish those tired muscles!
The ski school is also located in the building, and if you need further information on prices and times check out the website or call us on 03 6327 2477 pre season or 03 6390 6185 during the season (our apologies if you receive a recorded message when we are busy).
Transport from the bottom of Jacob's Ladder can be arranged by calling us on the mountain 6390 6185. Mobile phones do work from the Rangers Station Bus Stop, that is located 1 kilometre from the Parks and Wildlife Service entry booth.
See you up here!!
WE ARE OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK DURING THE SEASON 9.00 AM TO 4.30 PM AND OCCASIONAL WEEKENDS WHEN THERE IS SUFFICIENT SNOW FOR SNOW PLAY AND TOBOGGANING.
Please note the webcam will update every hour when power is available on the mountain. During some weather conditions the image may not update.
